Winners - Best Concept Art - Freeplay

Congratulations to Fiasco Studios & Vishus Productions and  who won the Best Concept Art category for Peleda at the 2012 Freeplay Independent Games Festival Awards.

The 2012 Freeplay Awards were presented as part of the Freeplay Independent Games Festival on September 23 at the Order of Melbourne.

This makes two wins for Fiasco Studios who picked up Best Concept Art at Freeplay in 2010.  A great achievement for a small startup, a great recognition for the team and demonstrates the high quality work produced by Fiasco Studios in a relatively short time. Hopefully this is the first of many more successes to come!

Thanks to all the judges and organisers for an excellent festival and a particularly thanks and shout out to Paul Callaghan (retiring Director of Freeplay) whose passion, wisdom and energy made the festival such a great event for game developers every year.

Paper Fox

The Paper Fox will be an interactive storybook on iPad, iOS and Android devices. All the 3D animals and environments featured on the site are created 100% digitally in Autodesk Maya.

Jeremy Kool is the very talented creator of the project.  He is an artist and graphic designed who lives and works in Melbourne.

He is working closely with Fiasco Studios on the project to provide production, programming, art and design support.

The initial development of the project was supported by Pozible and you can see a short video of the pitch on Vimeo.  The Pozible pitch funding target was reached but you can find out more here.

Since then, The Paper Fox project has secured funding from Screen Australia and has commenced development.

Fiasco Studios Pty Ltd is a game development studio focused on making quality games that are commercially and creatively successful.

Fiasco Studios is based in Melbourne and the studio is currently working on two exciting projects.

 

Peleda

Peleda is an online action adventure game being developed for the ABC3 website for Vishus Productions. It features the distinctive visual style of Nathan Jureviscious and is due to be released in 2013.

 

Paper Fox

Paper Fox is an interactive digital story book being developed with Torsion Fork Studio. It will be published by Bento Interactive and will be released in late 2012, for iPhones, iPad and Android.

Both titles are being made with support from Screen Australia and Peleda is also being supported by South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC).
